The most insightful lesson I got out of our recent interview with Love Systems instructor Cajun was his eye contact opener.? It is so simple that its brilliant.? In America, it seems that everyone is so shy about holding eye contact with anyone…but if you’re paying attention to your surroundings there is usually at least one girl checking you out.? She’ll usually be discreet about it, but if you’re paying attention you’ll notice, and when you do… smile.
The simple act of smiling at a girl who was checking you out is an instant boost in rapport.? You can take Cajun’s direct approach and walk over and say something like “You looked like you wanted to say hi.”
This is an excellent way to initiate a conversation.? Its a shame that in America this is so taboo.? I spend a lot of time in Brazil and this is actually how the game works down there.? Girls aren’t shy.? If they are interested in you they will blatantly stare.? When you notice a girl checking you out, you stare back, and game is officially on.
There is no reason you can’t take a variation of Brazil game and bring it to The States.? Sure, you have to tweak it a bit, so you don’t come off as creepy, but done playfully it can work.
If you’ve read Magic Bullets you’ll see that there is a nice section in there that deals with this sort of thing.

Something similar happened to me in the supermarket checkout line a little while ago. I ‘caught a girls eye’ and she looked away. In my AFC days I would have looked away at this point. End of Story.? BUT …
THIS TIME I just kept looking, and about 2 seconds later she looked back again. She smiled and looked away again, still smiling. I STILL KEPT LOOKING. She looked back again and this time I broke into a huge grin and so did she. It felt really good. It doesn’t always happen - quite a few girls look away and don’t look back. But that just means they are insecure in themselves, IMO.
Anyway, after this way cool exchange I didn’t even approach (I had a GF with me) but it was still worthwhile just for the good vibe I got (and knowing she felt the same too)

Okay, I tried this out today. Here is the mini FR.
At Barnes and Nobles.
I was walking and browsing by the Ailes.
She was sitting on the floor in one of the Ailes.
We made eye contact.
She looked back down.
I walked past, then back to her.
Looked at her.
“You looked like you wanted to say hi.”
“No, not really”
Chatted a bit more. Ran my cat routine on her.
Chatted a bit more.
She ran away.
Ouch.
I think it was the way I said it. Instead of saying it in a friendly and social way, I said it in the form of a creepo that was looking for sex.

i think you moved too fast. a single eye contact is meaningless. you have to have at least the second one, and the smiling at each other part is pretty important.
it was all over when she said “no, not really”.
once that happened, i think the only thing you could have done was smile mysteriously, break off contact, and linger in the aisle looking at a book or something. if she was freaked, she would have left right away, but if she stayed and gave you some more looks, you could have started over.
