MICHAEL PHELPSI hate jumping on the Michael Phelps bandwagon… but I heard an interview with him today, and one of his answers bears repeating.

The interview asked Phelps, “What separates the good athletes from the truly great ones. How do you get to be as good as Michael Phelps?”

Phelps response:

I think the guys like Tiger Woods, Roger Federer, Tom Brady… what makes them so great is the way they handle the obstacles. Its the way they handle the pressure. I mean Michael Jordan got sick. The difference is that when Michael Jordan plays sick… he still makes the shots.

I think this relates to anything you want to achieve in life. When you’re trying to improve your dating life… you’re going to run into obstacles… It is how you respond to the obstacles that separates the men from the boys.

    I saw this interview on ESPN, he’s not as pompous as you’d expect a 14 time Olympic gold medalist to be.
