Chinese Democracy, the upcoming new Guns and Roses album, was starting to seem like an urban legend. Axl Rose had been promising its release for close to 10 years now. The long awaited album is scheduled for a release on November 23rd.
Two songs from the album have been made available to the public. Shackler’s Revenge, can be heard on Rock Band 2, and “If the World” plays on the closing credits of Body of Lies, the new Russel Crowe/Dicaprio movie.
I haven’t heard either one of the songs yet, but I can say that I’m pretty psyched for the release of the album. The world seems to be missing a genuine bad ass rock band. I actually saw G n R about six years ago at Madison Square Garden for their last public appearance. They sounded freaken awesome. They blew through most of Appetite for Destruction and played a lot of Use Your Illusion.
I am really hoping this album doesn’t turn out to be a colossal disappointment. Too many people have waited too long for its release.

I wouldn’t get your hopes up, there is still plenty of time between now and Nov. 23rd to delay the album again. Though it certainly would be a welcome surprise.
I saw a GNR concert last year and it blew me away, probably one of the best concerts I’ve been too. Despite that Axl is kind of a dick, I must say that they are one of the top Rock bands ever!
