A Message to Our Readers
This post is for anybody who has been entertained, educated, or inspired by something they’ve read or listened to here at TSB Magazine.
Over the weekend I read this post by Seth Godin and thought I would reprint part of it for you guys. We very rarely ask much of our readers… but I ask you to read this, and if compelled, put it into practice.
IWantSandy is folding, as are a number of web companies. So is that restaurant you loved down the street. Users are outraged. Outraged!
When you find a service or establishment or product that gives you joy, it’s tempting to keep it to yourself. Perhaps it’s uncomfortable to recommend it to a friend (after all, you might seem silly) and even more uncomfortable to recommend it to a stranger (after all, you might seem like a shill).
Plenty of people hesitate before spreading the word about a political candidate or a business or a medical device. We’re worried that we’ll look silly, or that the place will end up being too crowded and now we won’t be able to get in. Or perhaps we’re concerned about losing our uniqueness…
Anyway, the outcry that accompanies the closing of one of these businesses should be enough to remind you that your hesitation has a cost.
It’s simple, I think. In a world where consumers have so much power, we now have two responsibilities:
- If you don’t like what an organization stands for, work actively to spread the word and force them to change
and
- If you will miss a product, a service, a book, a site or a professional when they close up shop, stand up, speak up and bring them masses of new business.
We get what we promote.

No doubt, I appreciate what TSB has been doing for the past few years. Once I found this site after searching for reviews of the Mystery show back in ‘06, Ive been hooked. I honestly look to Bobby and Mike as mentors. If I don’t tell my guy friends about TSB directly, I do it indirectly through the way I’ve changed and represented myself over the past two years.
I’m going to try to get the good word out even more in the future, cause the work you guys put into TSB is much appreciated.

Thanks Johnny… I always look forward to your feedback as well! Your opinion is one we highly regard here as we know you’ve been here awhile… I hope if we decide to do another retreat one day that you can make it!

Amen to that.
Discovered TSB awhile back and immediately bookmarked it and never looked back.
Will I miss it if it’s gone? For sure! It is one of the only ways I keep in touch and up to date with the ‘community’ nowadays anyway.
And like you said Johnny, I don’t like at Bobby and Mike as just some random website developer/designer, but more like a friend/mentor. And if I feel like that having never even met these guys or been in their presence, you can tell, this place definitely has a certain special atmosphere about it to stimulate feelings like that between men and women who are virtually strangers to each other.
I’ve already told a few friends of mine about this website throughout the past few months. Not cuz I wanted to be doing Bobby and them a favour though lol
but cuz they are my friends whom I know are into this stuff and they can benefit from 5-10 minutes of daily surfing here.

Love TSBmag! Truly a great service to men and mankind.
And in the spirit of this post, check out thesocialman dot com and thesocialforums dot com
These guys are legit and not cheezy or robotic/nerdy/creepy with their shit. The only websites I visit as often as here.
P.S. Seth Godin is up to something amazing right now…I heard from a friend and need to learn more…

You guys have no idea how much I appreciate TSBmag. The range of topics that you guys cover on here is amazing. Not oe Pnly that, but you have made me improve my life in ways that go beyond the PUA. I may not comment as much as i used to, but I still visit the site on a regular basis. Trust me, I don’t have a lot of sites bookmarked, but this is definitely on of them.
