There’s an old sketch from the classic Upright Citizens Brigade comedy performance programme that featured a guy claiming he said the titular line in Star Wars. The “titular line”, as explained by the show, is a line someone in the movie speaks that is the same as the title of the film. For example, this fella claimed he spoke the line, “Man, I’m just so tired of all of these Star Wars.”
Obviously, this never happened in George Lucas’ classic – hence the comedy – but there are a large number of movies that actually do feature these odd bits of not-so-subtle symbolism. And now, thanks to the folks over at Videogum, we have a large collection of them.
