Rachel Weisz with a snake

We’re skeptical about the newest Bourne movie, and how could you really not? Whenever the folks running a franchise have to deal with a star leaving their role — meaning, they have to come up with logistical reasons that the person in the movie is no longer — it gets messy. Think about the various “reboots” of franchise series (for example, the latest mess of a Spider-Man) and just how horrendous they are, and how few times they actually work. So, while we’re going to hold off on our judgements until we see it, we are not particularly hopeful for this one. But, that said, the pedigree is there, acting-wise. Jeremy Renner is a nice choice, and Edward Norton is always great in everything he does. But we’re excited about Rachel Weisz most of all because, well, just look at her.
