Excellent!
It’s about time, literally. Bill S. Preston, Esq. and “Ted” Theodore Logan, better known to filmgoers as metalhead time travelers Bill and Ted, are coming back for a most triumphant third film.
As reported by entertainment news site Vulture, Keanu Reeves and Alex Winters, the stars of 1989’s “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure” and 1991’s “Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey” are signed on to start in this third Bill and Ted movie. Along with the originals tars, Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson, the series’ creators, are writing the script for this yet-to-be-named film.
Unlike most modern movies featuring 80s intellectual property, this third Bill and Ted is neither a reboot or remake, but a third film that will “address where Mssrs. Ted Theodore Logan and Bill S. Preston, Esq. are in their lives today.” In case you don’t remember or haven’t seen the first two films, a utopian future society is based on the music of their band, the Wyld Stallyns.
With the death of George Carlin (Rufus) and the disappearance of phone booths everywhere, Solomon and Matheson have their work cut out for them in making a decent third film that makes sense to modern moviegoers/teenagers. Let’s just hope the Wyld Stallyns still play metal and haven’t moved on to dubstep.
