They say shoes make the man, and there’s actually a lot of truth in that statement. If you’re heading out on a hike, you’re not going to be wearing loafers. If you’re going into the office, you’re not going to wear sandals. There’s certainly a truth to the fact that whatever you are wearing on your feet is going to dictate the kinds of things you’re going to be doing. Which is why, for a lot of women, the first thing their eyes gravitate to, even before their car or face or suit or anything, is what kind of shoes they are wearing. If you get past the quick eye-test by wearing the right shoes out there, then half of that early work is done. So, shoes are one of the most important things you’re going to ever wear.

So here’s a handful of shoes that you need in your closet in order to be the man you want to be, courtesy the great guys over at Men’s Fitness. For example, if you’re heading out to the bar, you’ll do worse than getting these suckers:

Best for the Bar

Giorgio Brutini—Leinart loafer
Trekking through any bar on any happy hour or night out, you’re sure to encounter floors covered with a layer of sticky booze, street sludge, and other unnamed substances. You need durable, comfortable, sharp loafers—that you won’t feel bad throwing away should a beer fight erupt on Sunday Funday. Georgio Brutini offers casual, yet bar-friendly, penny loafers at the right price point. ($60; giorgiobrutini.com)

Head on over to the link above to check out some of the other best shoes that you will need if you’re heading out to any occasion.
