10 Unique Date Ideas

When I?m dating chicks or got a girlfriend, I?m always on the lookout for great activities to do with her. Dinners and movies are fine, those activities have their place, but those are old standbys. I like to spruce things up with some off-the-wall activities. Check out this list:

1. DJ Lessons.

I happen to be a big fan of EDM and House music, and I?ve always dreamt of being an international DJ. Taking an intro DJ lesson with my girl sounds awesome (haven?t done it yet). I found this craigslist ad in my area for lessons that cost a mere $35/hour. If you live in a major city, try Scratch Academy or DJ4Life Academy.

2. Free class at a CrossFit gym.

Yes, I?m already an avid CrossFitter, but even if you?ve never done CrossFit, you can always drop in with your girl at a local ?box? and try the freebie class. It?s a fun way to get in a workout and compare notes on the biggest fitness phenomena on the planet. I like visiting gyms in other cities just to see what makes them unique. Sometimes I?ll do multiple drop-ins in a single day!

3. Bicycle Bar Hopping.

Pretty self-explanatory. I like beer and usually so does my girl, so we?ll map out a route and bike around getting our drink on. I can usually sell this to chicks by adding wine-centric joints to the route and a place for lunch. Now we?re talking.

4. Food Truck Bazaar.

I?ve always had a great time at local food truck bazaars, especially ones located near bars. Good for people watching and sampling foodie type dishes. I took my current girlfriend on our first date to a food truck bazaar.

5. Stand-Up Paddleboarding.

This is all the rage in my home state of Florida and it makes for a fun date. If you like yoga, try a yoga class on stand-up paddleboards too.

6. BYOB Outdoor Movies.

I know, it?s a movie, but I?ve seen these springing up more and more. They are usually free, have a party vibe, and you can BYOB. What?s not to like?

7. Dress each other at a thrift store.

I know this sounds weird, but I?ve done it once before and it was a major blast. Go to a thrift store that features cool/weird/old clothes, set a time limit, and pick out outfits for each other. Spend $10 per outfit and actually go out in them. You?ll get a lot of looks.

8. Vintage arcade games.

I?ve noticed bars around town are featuring old-school arcade games (think Pac Man) and pinball, which are always a blast. One place by my house does FREE arcade all the time, so it?s a cheap date. Put it on two-player, order suds, and get your geek on.

9. GORUCK Light.

Best for hardcore adventurer couples, GORUCK Light is like a 5 hour mud run on steroids with pushups and flutterkicks. They are also a shitload of fun and a good way to have an intense experience with your girl.

10. Crash the local resort?s pool.

I have to admit, I do this at least once a summer. There are TONS of resorts with amazing pools where I live, and it?s a cinch to mosey through a lobby and get into the pool. Don?t feel like cheating? Almost all resorts have a daily resort fee you can pay to access said pools. I?ve had 3-4 excellent dates using this idea in the past.
