Revealed: The Truth Behind The Paleo Diet

If you haven?t tried the Paleo diet yet, there?s a strong chance you would have at least heard of it. The ?primal eating? trend has proved a hit with most of the celebrities in Hollywood, which encourages you to eat like our ancient ancestors did. It?s easy to see why Paleo has appealed to a number of people, with advocates insisting it will help us become healthier, fitter, stronger and leaner.

However, the mainstream media seems far from convince of its benefits, with the U.S News recently ranking it as joint-bottom in a review of 34 diets. They also scored it a two out of five, citing that trying to follow its complicated regime in modern times would be ?difficult.?

This is where we cross over to Paleo Plan, which has an interesting article on the real truth behind Paleo:

The Worst Diet?

It?s as if the media, mainstream nutrition experts, and even the government want to willfully misunderstand what Paleo is. Some who criticize Paleo do so by scoffing at this desire for ?real? food, as if we are purists, perfectionists, or living in an entirely unrealistic world. As if eating nutrient-dense food is somehow detrimental to our health.

It makes little sense that U.S. News or anyone else would think it?s actually healthier to eat processed food, or that it?s safer to consume preservatives and artificial flavors than it is to eat grassfed beef or wild caught fish, as they clearly believe by ranking both the Slim Fast Diet and NutriSystem well above Paleo.

It also goes into detail about the science behind the Paleo diet:

But What Does Science Really Say About Paleo?

Perhaps the only thing that will hold true forever is humanity?s love for debate. There will always be Paleo naysayers, and Paleo enthusiasts, and people who are middle of the road. Even if U.S. News continues to rank Paleo at the bottom of the food chain, those who?ve actually lived the lifestyle can attest to the health benefits and that it?s never quite so difficult to follow as critics would have people believe.

Checking out this article is a must. It?s a refreshing point of view away from popular media and helps balance the Paleo debate on either side. So what are you waiting for? Head over to the post now and make your own mind up about Paleo.
