Our Top 10 Penthouse Covers From the 70s
We feel it’s appropriate to honor the life and death of Mr. Bob Guccione, who died two weeks ago at the ripe age of 79 due to complications of lung cancer. Mr Guccione’s publication, Penthouse magazine, was extremely important to our development as a child. Playboy was a nice primer, a way to understand exactly what boobs were, even if they were super airbrushed boobies. But it was Penthouse that first brought to us the entire female body in all of its glory, what made us understand exactly what was going on “down there” before experiencing it in our own real lives. Thanks, Mr. Guccione!
Taking a cue from our friends over at Asylum, we’re going to rip them completely off and list our own favorite top 10 covers from Penthouse magazine, focusing exclusively on the classic hazy covers of the 70s. Why are we ripping them off so blatantly? Because it gives us a great opportunity to go through the entire archives of Penthouse magazine. Sometimes, honestly, this job is rough.
