FX Announces Air Date for New Sheen Show “Anger Management”

FX is giving America a taste of tiger?s blood. The cable network?s announced Tuesday that the first episode of Charlie Sheen?s new show ?Anger Management? will air June 28.

Tiger blood!

According to a recent article for NY Daily News, ?Anger Management? finds Sheen playing a former minor league baseball player turned behavioral therapist specializing in anger management. The character is certainly fitting for the actor. He played pitcher ?Wild Thing? Ricky Vaughn in ?Major League? and ? to put it lightly — has gone on his fair share of ?ragers? over the years. The series marks Sheen?s first acting role since being fired from ?Two and a Half Men? in March 2011.

?Anger Management? is based on the 2003 film of the same name starring Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson and is actually being produced by the same producer, Joe Roth. So far, FX has ordered 10 episodes. If America digs the Warlock?s performance, the show will be renewed for 90 more. According to executive vice president of FX Networks Chuck Saftler, ?Anger Management? bears the unique mark of Sheen:

??It feels like it?s got Charlie?s voice written into it,? he says. ?This feels like the next great Charlie Sheen sitcom.??

With the amount of publicity Sheen earned in 2011, it?s clear somebody will watch the show. Sheen was once quoted as saying “It’s been a tsunami of media and I’ve been riding it on a mercury surfboard.” Whether he wipes out or rides the wave this time is anyone?s guess.
