Watch the Teaser Trailer for RZA’s Martial Arts Film
What do you do after you?ve established yourself as a massive force in the hip-hop world, launched a successful clothing line, and acted in several movies? Why you direct a martial arts action film, of course. At least that?s what RZA, the Wu-Tang Clan?s leader has done.
?The Man With the Iron Fists,? RZA?s directorial debut, is scheduled for release on November 2. The film, set in 19th century China, tells the story of a blacksmith who must protect his village and stars the likes of Russell Crowe, Lucy Liu, and RZA himself.
In a new teaser trailer for MTV, the rapper/producer and now writer/director discusses his directorial debut. RZA brings up his relationship with Quentin Tarantino, the movie?s music (classic soul and hip hop), and his goal to top his success in Wu-Tang Clan.
The movie is actually presented by Tarantino, and you can see the director?s influence in the trailer. If you?ve seen either of the ?Kill Bill? movies, you?ll know exactly what I mean.
At the end of the trailer, RZA encourages viewers to ?Take your girl, get some popcorn, and go have some fun.? I think I?ll take him up on this offer. Now there?s just the issue of convincing my girlfriend to miss ?The Real Housewives of New Jersey? for one night.
