3 Simple Ways To Add More Relaxation Into Your Routine

All of us need to take a step back from our hectic schedule every now and then to relax. Sometimes we can feel it coming ? the car?s broken down, you don?t get paid until the end of the month and to cap it all off you have an important meeting with the boss… meltdown is fast approaching!

That?s why we bring to you three simple steps you can take to help yourself unwind without self- imploding. Pick from any one of these to turn tension into calm:

1. Listen To Music

Music has this great power of being able to transform our moods. Sticking on some classical music or your favorite song can help you remember good memories and transport you mind to a happier place.

Listening to soothing music helps lower heart rate, blood pressure and anxiety. If classical isn’t really your thing, then why not try ocean or nature noises. We know it sounds a bit cheesy, but research has shown that they have similar relaxing effects to music. On the other hand if you want to let off some steam, stick on some heavy rock and sing along at the top of your voice.

2. Call A Friend

Use social networking to reach out to someone either face-to-face or over the phone. Maintaining good relationships with friends and loved ones are important to a healthy lifestyle. Take advantage of these when you?re under huge amounts of stress ? a reassuring voice can help put everything into perspective.

3. Get Moving

Getting any form of exercise is brilliant for reducing stress. You don?t have to go on a 10k run or power lift at the gym ? a short walk around the office or stretching can offer immediate relief in stressful situations. It helps the brain release feel-good chemicals which improves our overall mental health and mood.
