Daedelus – “LA Nocturn”
Long before those Coldplay dudes were dressing up like Sgt. Pepper electronic hotshot Daedelus was donning Edwaridian jackets and spinning edgy electro cuts. The video for “La Nocturn,” the somber lead single off the Deadelus/Jogger split Friends Of Friends Vol. 1, displays a kaleidoscopic pre-millennial sci-fi feel. Sounded familiar? It samples the Smashing Pumpkins’ 1996 hit “Tonight Tonight”—which, if you can harken back to the day when videos were in heavy rotation on MTV, also had a decadent fin de siècle video.
