Why Hockey Is Quickly Becoming My Favorite Sport

The (very) old joke is that so-and-so went to a boxing match and a hockey game broke out, but that’s exactly why it’s quickly becoming my favorite sport.

(It doesn’t hurt that, for the first time since the greatest hockey video game of all time, my hometown Chicago Blackhawks are actually doing well.)

So, in honor of the two-week break we get from actual National Hockey League action as the various hockey players put down their paycheck-earning uniforms and take up their home nation’s flags — all while the NHL owners pray to the deity of their choice that their multi-million dollar players don’t get hurt — I bring to you this amazing fight from January between two Russian league teams.

Apparently, even Russian fights are Communist in nature: Everyone gets a piece!
