Pop and Indie Top Grammy Nominations
Pop stars, rappers and indie heroes will duke it out at the 54th Grammy Awards in February 2012. The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences announced its nominations? for the 54th Grammy Awards at a televised concert from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles.
Artists as diverse as Katy Perry and Bon Iver are up for some of the biggest awards at the 54th Grammy Awards, scheduled to take place in February 2012 in Los Angeles. Like last year, the nominations for the biggest awards are split between a diverse set of artists. British songstress is up for six awards, including Record of the Year for ?Rolling In The Deep.? Everyone?s favorite awards show-stopper Kanye West scored seven nominations, including Song of the Year for ?All Of The Lights.? Other artists up for top awards include British folk group Mumford & Sons, pop crooner Bruno Mars, and this decade?s Madonna, Lady Gaga (obviously).
Who will win what is anyone?s guess. The 53rd Grammy Awards winners were an eclectic sort to say the least. Jazz bassist Esperanza Spalding won the Best New Artist award. Indie rock band Arcade Fire took home the award for Album of the Year. And country group Lady Antebellum won five awards, including Song of the Year and Record of the Year for ?Need You Now.?
Whether you?re rooting for Foo Fighters (up for Record of the Year for ?Wasting Light?) or Pink (nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance? for ?F***in? Perfect?) it?s sure to be an interesting show. No matter who wins, Gaga?sbound to do and/or wear something insane (obviously.)
