Top Five Movies of Famke Janssen
Do you ever get actors or actresses linked in your head? And once that happens, you start to get them confused? Michael Madsen and Tom Sizemore became the first pair to flip back and forth in my mind. Their names started to overlap in my head and I expected to see one of them in a movie and ended up with the other. I suppose they look kind of similar and star in similar kinds of movies so I can see why I link them together. The second pair that causes this facial recognition confusion in my head is Natasha Henstridge and the subject of this top five, Famke Janssen.
I have no clue how or why they got linked in my head (maybe I saw their first movies at close to the same time) but I expected to see the movie “Species” in Famke’s filmography. Needless to say, I didn’t find it because it is firmly listed as the first movie role for Natasha. I’ve seen Famke’s movies and seen Natasha’s movies (and a TV show that I admit to watching much more that I should have, “She Spies”) but I still have not been able to unlink them in my head. If anyone can theorize why I have them linked (or if you have any other examples of this happening to you personally) please feel free to share them in the comments. Until then, I’ll try to unlink them by watching these movies (and maybe catching “Taken 2” in the theaters to see who gets taken next.)
I’m not sure this will be a good movie, but Paul Rudd, Jon Hamm as well as some of the minds behind “Children’s Hospital” (Rob Corddry, David Wain and Ken Marino) to go with Famke, Jessica Alba and Gretchen Mol makes me more than a bit curious.
Speaking of confusing things, this movie and “The Haunting” both came out in the same year and I know I saw one on a road trip, and I believe Haunted Hill was it. (I know why I confuse these as they both involve haunted houses and both came out in 1999.) I prefer this one anyways as along with Famke, it also has Ali Larter and Bridgette Wilson-Sampras.
Following Halle Berry, it’s two weeks in a row for X2.
I’m not sure if there is any competition for the best poker movie, but my guess is that this is like “Caddyshack” and anything else is “Caddyshack 2” if I may steal from a 90s “Sportscenter” commercial. (I would accept the argument for Altman’s “California Split” as poker’s “Tin Cup.”) The story is good, the poker is generally good and the acting from Famke, Matt Damon and Ed Norton makes it very enjoyable.
Agree? Disagree? Which movies would make your Famke Janssen top five?
Do girls leave you confused as to whether or not they like you?
Let's face it. Girl's don't make it easy for you. She will often send mixed signals leaving you unable to tell if she is being friendly or flirty. If you read her signals wrong you risk rejection and embarrassment. Or worse, you blow it with a girl who wanted to kiss you.
Here is a simple and innocent move that will instantly tell you if you're in the friend zone, or if she's waiting for you to kiss her.
