Why Do We Get Bored of Our Girlfriends???…

Choice or Bio Chemistry?

I’ve been in enough relationships to know that the honeymoon phase very rarely lasts more than six months.? Not that it gets particularly bad after six months… but it just isn’t ice cream and puppy dogs anymore.

One of our partner sites The Campus Socialite just posted this article about how to outlast the honeymoon stage.

Now, she makes a couple good points.? I do believe that a lot of the cracks in a relationship start occurring because once the intense “high” on the early month ends… we just want to get that “high” back.? And knowing that this drug won’t give it to us anymore… we start looking for a stronger and stronger drug.

But I’m not entirely sure of her premise that finding the right person from the start solves this problem.? I am of the belief that it has something to do with bio-chemistry.

I once read that after a certain amount of time we become less turned on by the pheromones another person is releasing.? And because we lose this “unconscious” sex signal… we slowly lose our attraction to them.

What do you think?

Why does it seem that the honeymoon phase rarely last more than six or seven months?? A year tops?

Check out Ann’s article and let me know if you agree with her.? Or me.
