Whoops: American Idol Out-Maneuvered By Porn Company
I’ll be honest up front: I’ve only seen one episode of American Idol in my life, so this post is going to lack the kind of “insider jokes” one would get if it were written by someone with a broad knowledge of the Simon Cowell vs. karaoke stars phenomenon. But this one is just too good not to share.
Apparently, for fans of the show to let their nasally voices be heard, they dial a specific phone number that will automatically tabulate their vote. Like that one dude with the long hair? Dial 1-866-IDOLS-02. The brunette girl with an eating disorder more your style? Dial up 1-866-IDOLS-05. And so on.
Well last night, if fans of the show wanted to vote for the 13th performer – in this case, Anoop Desai – and they dialed 1-866-IDOLS-13, they were greeted by a sexy lady asking for their credit card number in order to collect the $3.99 a minute she’ll be earning by being a “nasty girl” for you over the phone. Hilarious.
So today, be on the lookout for dozens and dozens of lawsuits directed towards Fox after parents are asked by their crying children what a “wet, sticky pile of goop” is anyway.
Which begs the question, what is the funnier blooper regarding the release of pornographic material to the eyes (and ears) of America? This Idol phone mishap? Or the Super Bowl dong exposure? Let your own voices be heard in the comments below!
