Trends to watch for 2015

What will you be wearing this year? These are the men?s fashion trends tipped to become big in 2015. Some are old fashions that have been a long time coming, but there is a definite wildcard.

Long coats

The most recent batch of runway shows late last year had something in common- there were plenty of long coats. It can be hard to pick out this lesser trend among a sea of color and weird fashions, but due to its understated nature it will be one of the more enduring trends of 2015. Long trench coats are a functional and fashionable piece that will take you through this year and beyond.

Hair bleaching

Platinum blond hair on men is making a huge comeback. This is possibly the weirdest trend that 2015 will bring. You may have thought that the bleach blond look on men was dead after Eminem returned to his natural dark hair, but it is coming back after five years in exile. Want to copy the look, but nature didn?t make you a blond? Never fear. Hydrogen peroxide is your friend. Justin Bieber has recently traded his chestnut locks for a bleach blond look, and you can too. The contrast created between your hair and your eyebrows is all part of the look. You may laugh now, but in a few months you will be dialling your hairdresser in pursuit of a bleach blond style.

Warm colors

You will be dressing like a sunset in 2015, particularly during the cooler months. Warm colors such as burgundy, red, orange and mustard will be making an appearance in menswear this year. You will have the freedom to match these shades together for casual dressing, whereas for formal and business wear you will be restricted to small touches such as a burgundy tie.

Nautical style

Sail into style with the nautical look. Summery and navy-inspired designs have become popular in the last few years, and are set to remain in vogue for the upcoming year. High street shops will be releasing plenty of nautical pieces in their upcoming collections, making it a good option for casual streetwear. Stripes will especially be big in 2015.

Casual suits

Casualwear will become more sophisticated in 2015, with a rise in wearing elements of a suit even in the most informal of situations. This gives you more opportunities to add colored suits to your wardrobe. A forest green suit jacket would be a good investment for your 2015 casual wardrobe. When wearing a suit casually, always skip the tie. The safest look is to pair a suit jacket with casual pants, but you can also wear suit pants with this look. For a modern take on the casual suit, pair a two-piece with a white turtleneck instead of a shirt. To ensure your look stays laidback, avoid wearing leather shoes with your casual suit outfit. Canvas loafers are a good option.
