Starting the Day Right with Early Morning Workouts
Getting involved in an early morning exercise routine is an ideal way to hit the ground running, but it’s not always an easy task. When it’s still dark outside and your bed is a warm and comforting embrace, it can be difficult to take that first step into a cold and trying world.
However, it’s worth remembering that exercise in the morning is ideal for offering access to a wide range of potential physical and mental benefits. Strength training on the morning can boost your metabolism into high-gear for as long as 48 hours, meaning that doing your workout in the AM could be the kick you need to speed up your weight-loss progress.
Exercise is also ideal for treating your brain to excess endorphins, which improves your mood and ensures every day is started on the right foot. More than that, you’ll experience a sense of accomplishment from knowing that your workout is completed before the workday has even started. This means that you don’t have to stress about it later if unexpected circumstances throw off your schedule. So how do you get the most out of your early morning routine?
1. Plan a Pre-Workout Meal

People who regularly exercise in the morning can teach their body to be ready for a workout first thing.
If you’re planning a morning workout, try going to sleep around thirty minutes earlier than normal, so that you don’t lose out on some important rest. Fortunately, research suggests that exercising on a morning can help you to improve your sleep, so getting to bed earlier may not be an issue.
3. Get Prepared the Night Before

Knowing that you have made the right preparations will make your sleep more peaceful, and your morning free of stress, so that you can enjoy the full benefits of your workout.

4. Plan a Wonderful Warm-up
When you first wake up in the morning, your body temperature will be naturally lower than usual. The last thing you want to do during your workout is open your body up to pain or injury. When you start to exercise, you undergo a number of changes, including increased respiration rate, enhanced blood flow and improved oxygen delivery to certain cells.
In order to ensure these changes work properly, you need to prepare your body with the right warm-up. A sound warm-up improves your mental acuity, prepares your nervous system, loosens your muscles and joints to prevent injury and gets your heart ready for some serious pumping.

Let’s face it – you’re far more likely to get out of your bed and into your workout routine if you’re doing exercises that you enjoy. Whether that means signing up for a morning yoga class, taking off on a bike ride, or engaging in a brisk run, choose a workout that you can really appreciate. This will help you to stick to a golden and fabulous routine, rather than growing wary of the morning alarm.
