4 Keys to Beating the Plateau

We all want to get better, to improve, and be the best we can be. It doesn’t so much matter at what — it could be strength, cardio, math, or another language — they all take work, and they all feel great when we manage to reach our goals. Life isn’t meant to be spent in total comfort and content, so it pays to know how to push past adversity and face our fears.

One such problem most of us will face in our endeavors to improve, is the dreaded plateau, that annoying situation that exists somewhere between “I have achieved something” and “I need to to achieve more.” The problem is we don’t seem to get any further. It’s not for a lack of trying, we continue to work out or practice often, but improvement just comes to a halt.

Huffington Post have put together 4 tips we can use to overcome this plateau:

Mix it up. Trying new workouts, something that you wouldn’t ordinarily go for. If you are normally a runner, try a boot camp classes. If you enjoy yoga, try Zumba. You get the idea. The change will cause your body to adjust and you’ll find yourself working just a little bit harder, and that little push may be enough to help create a new climb off the plateau. You can always go back to the stuff your really love, but that fresh input will do wonders.

It makes sense that if what you’re doing is no longer working, change is necessary. Check out the rest of the post for the other 3?tips.
