How to meet women when you don’t drink
Meeting women is difficult if you are not into the social world that goes with drinking. The first thing to know is that you should not make a habit of going clubbing if you are a non-drinker. We have a word for stone-cold sober men who flirt with sloppy drunk girls: weirdos. Here are some better ideas for places to find women when you are teetotal.
Location, location, location
Living in a small town means that there are few dating prospects. You will be forced to go to bars and backyard parties in order to meet girls, because there are simply no other social activities. You need to widen your net by being in a big city. If you are stuck living in a sleepy area for the foreseeable future, you may want to join a meetup group in your nearest city and make regular trips there.
There are two places that single people gather in droves: in nightclubs, and on Tinder. For a sober singleton, online and app-based dating are the easiest way to meet potential beaus. Most online dating sites ask you to fill in your drinking preferences, so you are more likely to be able to find others like yourself who prefer a sober lifestyle.
Engage with social events which tie into a healthy lifestyle. A local rock-climbing group or bike riding group will be teeming with fit women, many of whom will be abstinent from alcohol themselves. Even if you join a group where you do not spot any potential love interests, it can’t hurt to build up a group of active friends who can introduce you to their friends.
Get out of the house
Women do not only exist at night-time when they head to the local bars. Rather than focusing on the opportunities you miss, open your eyes to the women that are in your life already. Work, school and any social clubs you belong to will be home to plenty of girls that you can get to know and even flirt with. If you are a young guy who is still studying, get a weekend job somewhere that has a fun and youthful culture, such as in a fast food restaurant. You will find that work is a great way to make friends and meet women your age.
Make an effort to cultivate a social circle with a good mix of men and women. It will not lead to dates immediately, but it will pay off. Go to as many social events as you can, especially when you know new people will be there. Put in the work to get to know your friends’ friends. You might even want to ask your friends if they know anyone who might be interested in a blind date. A network is your best asset for meeting women, whether that is in a friendly or romantic capacity.
