Fuel Your Success

This next article is part of an ongoing series here at TSB Magazine called The Success Principles. The series is based on the 64 principles laid out by Jack Canfield in his course of the same name. If youre new, I always suggest starting any series from the beginning.

Principle 38:  Fuel Your Success with Passion and Enthusiasm

If you can learn to channel the passion that you feel within, it can carry you to heights you never thought imaginable.  Each and every high achiever is fueled by a passion of some sort.  This passion provides the necessary drive and continued enthusiasm that will provide you with the extra energy you need to reach your goal.

I’ve written a lot about passion here at TSB Magazine.  I feel very strongly about the role passion plays in the success of anything you hope to achieve.  In a previous article I spoke about how the greatest pick up artists in the world are all fueled by a passion outside the pursuit of women.  In that article I asked you the question “If money wasn’t an object, what would you do?”  The answer to that question is critical in determined your life’s purpose.

I also talked about how discovering my passion to entertain and inspire helped me quit an unfulfilling job and change courses, ultimately leaving me with an abundance of energy and motivation to begin each new day.  It is an invigorating feeling to be filled with purpose and totally committed to a mission.  This sort of passion comes from doing what you were born to do.  It comes from following your heart and trusting your gut as your guide.  The truth is, if you love and enjoy your work… you are already a success.

Once you discover your passion, how can you keep the passion and enthusiasm alive?

I will be the first to admit that even though I am on course and enjoying what I do, there are plenty of days where I am discouraged, doubtful, and even unmotivated.  This happens when I let myself get bogged down in the petty details.  Once I start feeling this way I look beneath these “have to do’s” and ask myself what is the deeper reason I’m doing this seemingly insignificant time killing task.  Once I get in touch with that, it is a lot easier to get enthusiastic about what I have to do.

Canfield also suggests:

The most obvious way to maintain passion and enthusiasm every day is to spend more time doing what you love to do.  This includes discovering your true purpose, deciding what you really want to do and have, believing you can do and have it, deliberately creating your dream career, delegating as much as you can that is not your core genius to someone else, and taking concrete steps towards attainment of your goals.

When you express your passion and enthusiasm you will become a magnet to others, who will be attracted to your high level of energy.  They will be drawn to you, and want to play with you, date you, work with you, and support your dreams and goals.

still not convinced of the power of living with passion?  Then I highly recommend checking out the CD program that opened up my eyes to the subject, Living with Passion.
