Must-Read: What to Wear on First Dates

Be fashionable on the first date

We all know how inherently terrible first dates are. They are a time when two people, who really know nothing about one another or if they’ll even like talking to the other person for more than 5 minutes, are stuck in a very uncomfortable and one-on-one position with them. But in so many cases — especially in this day-and-age when most people don’t let it be known that they are, in fact, doing out on a date — it’s not always easy to know what to wear. Is it going to be a super fancy thing? Should you be wearing a suit? Or is this a casual night out where jeans and a nice T-shirt will suffice? Knowing what to wear on a first date is a mine field to navigate, and one that if you’re not careful about could end up blowing your chances before you even get to the first round of “so, what are your interests?” line of questioning.

Which is why, as a service to all of you people out there who are going through this on a regular basis, we are highlighting this article from the fine folks at AskMen.com about what it is you should be wearing out on these first dates anyway. For example:

A fitted sportcoat

In basic navy, windowpane or tweed, a sportcoat is a surefire (not to mention super-simple) way to swoon your date. And much like your shirt, the only thing that really matters is the cut. It should have two buttons, follow your form and just barely cover your caboose.

Head on over to the above link for so many more tips, and never be under- (or over-) dressed for first dates again.
