15-Minute Workouts You Can Do Before Work
Time is in short supply. We could all do with more of it, but the only way that’s going to happen is if we give up something that already occupies our time. Productivity is a buzz word today, we want to get more work done, the problem is when we can’t get it all done in the time we expect—which is almost always—then we resort to working overtime.
Productivity can be a hazard if it’s not approached the right way. If it causes work to get in the way of health and fitness, then it’s failing. Now, there are ways to get a workout in that don’t have to take hours out of your day. The Huffington Post has put together several workouts you might like to try:
Runner’s “speed play” workout
For this workout, Beth Weinstein, an endurance runner and founder of running-gear brand OnlyAtoms, looked to Sweden for inspiration. “One of the most effective and quick workouts you can do in 15 minutes is the ‘fartlek,’ a Swedish word meaning ‘speed play,'” she says of the technique, which involves mixing sprinting with jogging at varying intervals. While you don’t need to prep your muscles before the workout, she recommends stretching after. “To save time, stretch in the shower,” Weinstein suggests. “Your muscles will be warmer!”
Time might not be on our side, but you should never use that as an excuse to bypass your health. Make sure to check out the full post and find some form of a workout that will work for you.
