Must-Read: Best Cars of the Year

We don’t speak much about cars on this site, for better or worse. It’s one of those things that, yes, a guy-centric blog should focus a bit more on (and, hell, maybe 2012 will be The Year of the Automobile around these parts) but, for whatever reason, it just always falls under our radar. Could be that we are a bit “car blind,” as in, we have issues identifying cars while out there on the streets. Say, “hey is that Dodge whatever-the-hell?” and we will usually end up just saying, “looks like it,” to shut you up and then move the conversation somewhere else.

The Boss

That said, as part of the annual recap of this year’s news stories over at the AskMen.com site this week, we couldn’t help but click, and re-click, and click again on the article for the best new cars for 2011. Who knows? Maybe it means our visual palate is becoming more developed and we’ll spend next year coveting dozens and dozens of cars we’ll never be able to afford.

In any case, this is our favorite:

No.3 Boss 302 Mustang

Ford?s Mustang Boss 302 is, without a doubt, one of the most enjoyable cars we?ve ever driven. Yes, it?s unabashedly primal, and, yes, it never stops shouting. And with 444 angry horses on tap, it has us shouting nonstop, too. It?s a deafeningly loud muscle car, this Mustang, but it also happens to be a solidly capable sports car. It?s just as happy taking corners as it is charging in the straights, making it the perfect vehicle for impromptu stoplight drags or late-night canyon runs. Given the inevitable collectibility of this modern-era Boss, we can only hope that current owners of the car are doing more than just ?hard parking? it in their climate-controlled garages.

In any case, head over to the above link to check out the other 9 on their end-of-year list.
